I had the television on in the background while I was doing things around the house over the weekend. Every commercial break was just a string of pro-drug ads. They were a constant barrage- no wonder Americans take 60% of all the medication created yet we are only 5% of the world population. Drug ads are jammed down our collective throats they are on TV, in the newspaper, it seems like every other page in any magazine is a drug ad. How many drugs does it take to make a person healthy?? A recent study found that the average 65 year old is currently on 17 different medications. 17, I'll say that again 17. Is more medication the answer? If so why is America ranked 37th of all industrialized countries. If medication were the answer to health and we take the most shouldn't we be the healthiest??! Yet we are not. It is time to rethink health and wellness. We have the answers.
Yours in health,
Dr. Brian
