The Mathmatics of Health

We all learn our basic math skills in elementary school from qualified instructors. Health skills are learned throughout a life time (and often times by those less than qualified to teach.) In the same way that 2+2=4 is a universal truth, there are equations that must lead to health in the same way. Today we begin with basic healthy math. Today's health equation is

YOU + X - Y = Health

Lets start with addition: Addition is the most basic step in mathematics and in health here is a list of healthy things to add to your daily life. (Remember we are starting with basic math so just add a few at a time, add more every day to solve the problem- like with all learning, practice makes perfect.)

X= 30 minutes of exercise every day, more pure water, deep breathing, fresh fruits and vegetables, loving relationship, connection to Creator, laughter, stretching a few times a week, chiropractic adjustments to the spine. (remember these are just basic math - complexity comes later)

Subtraction: Step two in math and health (removing these things from your life is a great start to moving towards health.)

Y= Stop smoking, cut back on salt intake, lose a few pounds, get rid of unhealthy relationships, sit less often, watch less TV, worry less about things you can't change, eat less fast food, drink less soda. (basic math take one or two at a time - practice makes perfect. )

Once we have our basic skills down we have them for life. We can then learn more complex equations and solve evermore complex problems. The same can be said of rules for health once you have the basics down then you can solve more complex problems.
Next week class we start to multiply and divide :)

Yours in health,

Dog Dayz of Summer!!

One of my favorite quotations about health and healing that I have borrowed from those wiser that myself is "Health is a journey and not a destination." You don't exercise for 3 months and one day arrive at health and stop exercising. Health is something that you work on daily, bit by bit, it is not gathered or bought in big chunks. The journey of health does not take summer vacations or hide in the closet until it can fit into your busy schedule.

"Ok Dr. Adam, get to the point."

Well 2 points.
1. I have to apologies I have failed to Blog in several months. Just like the health journey doesn't take vacations, leading and serving people in health should not take a vacation.
2. We are in the dog dayz of summer and this is the time when people let the journey get a little too relaxed. Schedules and regiments get brushed aside, goals get forgotten and the health journey begins to sputter.

So today I am re-committing to Blog weekly and I challenge you to recommit to your goals, your regiment, and your schedule for health!!

Forever committed to your health,

Dr. Adam Rushford
